First Well Check!

Today we went to the UK International Adoption Clinic for the boys first thorough check up. When I say thorough, I mean thorough. It took four hours. The doctor was phenomenal. The boys are doing great. She thinks we have aged them a few months young, but agrees it's okay. We were there for four hours. They drew a ton of blood to test for you-name-it. Eyasu cried every time he was poked or messed with (he has a fear of doctors I think). Ermias did great and was the doctor's fave. She even gave him her stethoscope to play with, which he took apart! He hugged her and kissed her! He let her check him head to toe and loved all the attention! By the time we left, we were all ready for a nap and starving!!! Praying that all test results come back negative, or at least that they don't carry anything serious! So so happy with today's visit that we picked the doctor for our regular pediatrician! Oh yeah, and Eyasu still has an ear infection in both ears so we have to do another round of antibiotics. We hit Chick Fil-A after the dr. which the boys loved!!

Four Days and Counting!!!!!!

Four more days until we travel to pick up the boys!!!! It is crrrraaazy around here. We said last night that we should've taken a week off to just prepare! Our beds still aren't in and we are freaking about that, but oh well, we have another bed to use if that doesn't happen. If anyone wants to join us at the airport on Sunday the 31st, come by! Finally our approval to travel!!!!

Today we received notice that we have been approved by immigration to adopt the children. It is such a complicated process, but basically the children are ours now by Ethiopian law, we were just waiting to get our stamp of approval from the US. Of course these things just take time, but I was hoping that we would get this quickly as we are pretty much ready to go in Ethiopia for an Embassy date at the end of the month. Noe and I will be traveling there to pick up the boys and staying a few days. We are currently getting all the last minute things ready (beds, final clothing items, lotions, pull ups, etc.) One of our friends who just got back from Ethiopia and met the boys said they were very sweet. We have heard nothing but compliments about them!! It is so crazy at our house right now!!! But I am so thankful that we got approval today so that's two fewer weeks they will have to live in an orphanage!

Lost in the Paperwork!

We are currently getting all of our documents together for our Embassy appointment, which will be (hopefully) around the 28th....as I sit here doing this paperwork I am wondering what they are doing right now! Well, probably sleeping since our waking hours are their sleeping hours!! My heart melted when I saw the pic of Ermias holding the football we sent him about a month ago in a care package. We are happy that they are smiling, and that other sweet families have taken the time to snap pictures of them, as well as Sue, the agency director. Also note the pic of Eyasu (Joshua) smiling!!!! This is honestly the first full smile we have seen! On to more paperwork....... ( I am also completing my continuing education requirements for the year!)
